The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced that proceedings under the Pakistan Army Act against retired Lt. Gen. Faiz Hameed commenced on August 12, 2024, through a Field General Court Martial.
In the next phase, Lt. Gen. Faiz Hameed (R) has been formally charged.
The charges include involvement in political activities, violations of the Official Secrets Act, compromising state security and interests, misuse of authority and government resources and causing undue harm to individuals.
Additionally, a separate investigation is underway to probe Lt. Gen. Hameed’s alleged involvement in violent and disruptive incidents linked to unrest in the country, including those related to the events of May 9.
The ISPR also stated that the inquiry is examining collusion and actions carried out on the instructions of certain political elements.
During the Field General Court Martial process, Lt. Gen. Faiz Hameed (R) is being provided all legal rights as per the law, the ISPR confirmed.
