Prince William and Kate Middleton reportedly have big plans in mind for the monarchy when they will ascend to the throne.
According to a new report, the Prince and Princess of Wales are expected to ditch major royal traditions and scrap “old royal rules” after they become the King and Queen.
The Waleses aim to focus on charitable endeavors and tone down the pomp and circumstance of royal life, reported In Touch Weekly.
Instead of traditional royal tours, William and Kate will prioritize meetings with experts and activists to bring real change in order to keep the monarchy relevant.
“She and William want to focus on truly helping people through their charitable endeavours and dial down all the pomp and circumstance,” the insider said.
They claimed that the changes will help to “keep the monarchy relevant.”
Moreover, the insider also revealed that William and Kate are also planning to make sure they spend more time with their kids unlike former monarchs.
“The kids have always come first, and that won’t change just because Kate and William are sitting on the throne,” the source revealed.
